Špela Stres

Spela is the head of the Technology Transfer and Innovation Center of the Jožef Stefan Institute, and an invited lecturer at the University of Ljubljana, in Slovenia.

At the Jožef Stefan Institute, she managed the Communication and TechTransfer Unit, coordinated the Enterprise Europe Network and supervised the creation of several spin-out companies in the field of material science and ICT.

Spela was the first President of the Slovene Technology Transfer Association. She was as well a Board Member of CERN Technology Transfer Network and a Vice President of ASTP.

Spela has a vast experience in European Commission programs. She is a European Research Council Evaluator and an Advisory Group Member for the Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology and the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation.

She was appointed to the 10-Member Group in support of the Technology Facilitation Mechanism (TFM), of the United Nations, in New York, USA.

She holds a PhD in Physics at University of Ljubljana, a Masters Degree of Law in the field of Intellectual Property at University of Turin and World Intellectual Property Office, Geneva and the Executive MBA at Cotrugli Business School.
